Last night I had the pleasure of seeing The xx live at Village Underground. I’ve had the album on repeat for a while now and have been keen to see a live performance. There was not a whole lot of movement on stage which is even more credit to the power of their sound. Standing among a transfixed crowd I let the simple rifts and chest rumbling bass lines take over, incredible. We were also treated to their new cover of Florence + The Machine You’ve Got The Love, a track that has been ripped apart a few times. The original by Jamie Principle, which you can listen to in my post from a few days ago ‘My House’.
Thanks to Dan Neal @ RKCR and Ita Shafrir @ Universal for hooking me up with the ticket. And not forgetting Morgan Clement @ Mother who first introduced me to The xx.
Matey! I’m so gutted, love the album. I had tickets but I was ill so didn’t go. I’ve tickets to see them in March next year though! I hope you’re well. Lets catch up sometime soon.
